Entertainment Director, Song Writer Stands for Vanua and Fellow Musicians
The 61-year-old entertainer, musician, vocalist and songwriter is a familiar figure in the tourism and music industry.
Buli Ratu has entered politics to stand for the vanua of Nadi and also to represent fellow musicians. The Navatulevu native of Narewa, Nadi was endorsed last Friday at his village to be a provisional candidate of the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) for the Ba West Constituency.
The 61-year-old entertainer, musician, vocalist and songwriter is a familiar figure in the tourism and music industry.
“I want to stand on behalf of the people of Nadi and the landowners,” he said.
“We are the landowners of these resorts in Denarau and we haven’t seen any benefits of it. I will stand on behalf of the landowners of Nadi to help them get good benefits from all the resorts on our land here.”
“I am happy to be given a chance to fight for my people in a good manner.”
As a special tourism coordinator, he also chose to join politics to uplift the music and entertainment industry in Fiji.
“The music and the entertainment industry contribute a lot to our economy. The hotel industry is supposed to work together with the music industry.”
