Corporate giant, Jack’s Group of Companies, urged its managers in the retail division to continue to enhance their knowledge, skills, expertise and funnel it to their teams on the ground.

They were reminded of their roles during the three-day annual Jack’s of Fiji Retail Leadership Workshop currently underway at the Sofitel Fiji Resort on Denarau Island.

Head of Retail Operations Roshlin Lata said they have their 50 managers who oversee operations at the 44 stores nationwide.

The division managed to organise this event after two years following the COVId-19 pandemic challenges.

“In the three days, it’s all about learning development, and building our better leaders who are able to then go and lead our team,” Ms Lata said.

“The managers who are able to enhance their knowledge, their skills, their expertise, then go back to their stations.

“The same flows down to our team in the stores.

“Eventually the product you have, the customer is going to come for it and feel in the store when the customer interaction does take place.

“It is our staff, so the same goes to the customer to provide the best service to get connected with our teams, staff, and our products at our stores.

During the pandemic

There are about 600 staff in the retail stores alone. Overall, there are more than 1200 employed.

“When tourism opened, we opened so many stores again,” she said.

“We got about 150 people who have been given employment as Jack’s of Fiji Group invests a lot in their people development,” added Ms Lata.

“We believe that if you develop your people, you care for your people, they care for your business.

“So there’s a lot of investment that our organisation is putting in with the people. We have a lot of loyal customers who come back to our stores; some of the customers come every day.”

Meanwhile, representatives from other subsidiaries presented presentations on their respective businesses.
