Nitika Nandani, who scored the highest mark in the 2021 Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination for the Northern Division, is now the head girl of Nadogo Central College.

The 17-year-old lass from Lagalaga, Labasa, said her father, who is a sugarcane farmer, was proud of her achievement.

“Everyone has a dream and my dream is to become a doctor and take my parents out from farming as they have toiled the land over two decades,” Nitika said.

Along with performing her role her aim is to score the highest mark for the Northern Division in Fiji Year 13 Certificate Examination this year.

Head boy Jaoti Tuivulideci was also surprised to be inducted as head prefect.

“I stay in the hostel because my parents live far from school,” the head boy said.

“It’s like a two and half hour bus ride and then a 30 minute boat ride to Wainika Village in Cakaudrove.”

The eldest of four siblings aspiring to become an engineer said his father was a yaqona farmer.

“I would like to thank the teachers for having faith in me to lead the school,” he said.

“It won’t be easy to work with 68

prefects, 115 students and 34 teachers and then staying away from parents but I will trust in God to be my guide.”
