- >SALOTE QALUBAU Edited by Selita Rabuku

The plea date for Alivereti Lesukiyasawa was deferred by the High Court in Lautoka yesterday.

The defence requested more time to advise Lesukiyasawa properly on his plea.

Lesukiyasawa is alleged to have been heavily intoxicated when he allegedly murdered the late Joseph Johnson on February 19 at Evan street, Lautoka.

The matter was heard before Justice Sunil Sharma. Lesukiyasawa was represented by Legal Aid Commission lawyer Jowen Singh while the State was represented by Simione Seruvatu.

Justice Sharma adjourned the matter to May 26 for plea and advised Ms Singh to be ready by the next mention date.
