Shalvi Darshana, 20, of Wailoaloa in Nadi is sincerely grateful to the Fijian Government for assisting in her higher education studies in the field of medicine. The second-year MBBS student could not contain her excitement when she received confirmation from the Tertiary Scholarship and Loans Services (TSLS) on Wednesday that she was one of the National Toppers Scholarship recipients.

Her father, Dinesh

Dutt, expressed the family’s appreciation to the Prime Minister and the Government for the golden opportunity.

“This is only possible under the umbrella of the FijiFirst Party with respect to education through TSLS,” Mr Dutt said.

“As a small business owner with financial difficulties, this assistance has come at the right time because I was struggling to pay for my daughter’s tuition fees.

“Our family’s hope has been restored because this education assistance through TSLS has reassured and encouraged my daughter to study hard and be successful in life.

“Her mark in Year 13 at Nadi Sangam College is 373 out of 400. When Government reopened the Toppers Scholarship for students studying medicine, we were so happy about it.”

“I have two daughters and bright,” he said.

The 20-year-old scored 373 out of 400 in Year 13 at Nadi Sangam College.
