New Police Commissioner for Tonga arrives from Australia
Nuku’alofa: Tonga’s Police Commissioner designate Rodney McLennan, otherwise known as Shane, is expected to be sworn in, after he completes his seven-days quarantine in Nuku’alofa this week.
The Prime Minister, Hu’akavameiliku, announced on Friday that the King had approved the appointment.
Commander MacLennan from Australia, would take up the position for three-years.
Brigadier Lord Fielakepa of HMAF has been Acting Police Commissioner, since the departure of former Police Commissioner Stephen Caldwell to New Zealand last year, after completing a six-year term in Tonga.
