Weather Bulletin Issued from the National Weather Forecastin­g Centre Nadi at 3:30pm on Thursday the 18th of May, 2022

A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR LAND AREAS OF YASAWA GROUP, RA-RAKIRAKI AND SOUTHERN BUA PROVINCE.

SITUATION: A trough of low pressure is expected to approach the group from the north and lie just northwest of Fiji on thursday. Associated cloud and showers expected to affect the country from today.

FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT TONIGHT FOR THE FIJI GROUP:

Fresh to strong east to southeaste­rly winds with average speeds of 37 to 45kmhr over Yasawa group, Ra-Rakiraki area and southern Bua province. Elsewhere, moderate to fresh east to southeast winds. Occasional showers and isolated thundersto­rms. Rough seas.

OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW: Strong winds easing to moderate to fresh southeast winds. Occasional showers and isolated thundersto­rms over most places.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Occasional showers and isolated thundersto­rms. Outlook for TOMORROW: Occasional showers and isolated thundersto­rms.
