KORO ISLAND
LIMITING THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT AND RESOURCES WASTAGE WITH A FOCUS ON INCREASING ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY HAS BEEN ONE OF THE KEY EMPHASIS OF THE 14 COMMUNITIES ON KORO ISLAND FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS.
The circular economy concept is part of the European Union funded Learning Environmental Adaptation for Development (LEAD) of CSOs in Fiji Project implemented by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Fiji.
Through this project, the 14 communities work towards increasing circular island economy activities designed to have no or reduced waste which encompasses disassembly and reuse.
One such activity is the production of recycle products from plastic bottles, containers and aluminum products.
