Girmitiya Gathering Brought Us Together: Amin
The TFL sponsored 143rd Girmit celebration in Ba on Saturday brought together people of all races to remember the girmitiyas. Special Administrator Ba/Lautoka Council Chair Anil Amin made those comments during the 143rd Girmit celebrations at the Ba Multi-purpose bure on Saturday.
He thanked all of those that came together to celebrate and remember the girmitiya’s.
“It’s a time for us to witness the girmitiyas’ cultures and backgrounds coming together as one community to mark this 143 rd girmit celebration,”
Mr Amin said.
“My message to all of you is to love and respect others, regardless of faith and to appreciate life, assist one another especially, the weak and unfortunate ones as part of your contribution to nation building.”

He added that all should be grateful that the gathering has brought them together in remembering the girmitiyas.
