NAKASI YOUTH CLUB TO LAUNCH SINGLE MOTHERS SUPPORT PROGRAMME

A single mothers support programme will be launched in Labasa this Friday by the Nakasi Youth Club in an effort to assist these mothers in catering for their child’s immediate needs.

This will be the first of its kind programme to be set up by the club after similar programmes were organised in the Western and Central Divisions.

Club president, Mohammed Shafil, said they understood there were many single mothers who required help to manage their child’s wellbeing.

Mr Shafil said their three-day stay in Labasa this week would be focused on identifying and helping poor families with donations and single mothers would be part of this awareness.

“Our trip to Labasa and other areas in the Northern Division will allow us to collect data and information on the type of assistance they require,” he said. SAMPRAS ANAND Edited by Jonathan Bryce
