Ezekiel Nakaroti scored Nadi Muslim College’s final goal to seal their 3-0 victory against Votualevu College in the Nadi Secondary Schools Football Association Under-17 competition at the Nadi Sangam Primary School, last weekend.

The left footer, who recently returned from studying in New Zealand, fitted into his new school football side easily.

What happened:

NMC dominated the match and in the fifth minute, striker Apakuki Tuitavua scored the opening goal.

It didn’t take long to amuse the spectators with the team’s second goal which was headed home by Mohammed Akil.

Halftime:

NMC 2-0 VC.

NMC still had control over their opponents and in the 42nd minute Nakaroti volleyed the ball to the back of the net.

Comment:

Nakaroti said: “I’m so happy to score. It was our first game and we were hungry for a win. We tried to get the ball, many opportunities were created and we scored the goals.

“I came to Fiji two months ago and it was my first football game in this country. Football here is a bit more physical and also the tempo is quite fast. I have to have to be fit to match it,” he added.

Competitions resume this weekend.
