Having completed his MBA (Management in Business Administration) in Sales, Rohinesh was extremely happy to get a job on campus itself. He was inducted as a Management trainee for CPL Garments, one of the leading organizations in Fiji!
He was one of the very few from his institute to have been selected and therefore it was a real joyful moment for him.The first few weeks passed by and Rohinesh seemed to sail smoothly. He was extremely disciplined about punctuality and also about completing his work on time. He was perceived as a very sincere and diligent worker in the organization. Rohinesh was someone who completed all his duties as a trainee and even was once adjudged the best trainee of the month. This was something that happened up to the third month from the time of his joining the organization. With the passage of time the organization started facing some difficult times. Competition increased and profits began to slowly yet steadily dip and this downward trend came really as an unpleasant surprise to the organization! The pressure increased to the point that even the trainees, especially the sales and promotion trainees were also given some stiff targets. All the members of the sales team were asked to put in their best in helping the sales to pick up. Six months had passed and at the time of the ‘Head of Department’ meeting it was seen that the sales had actually enhanced beyond even the expectations of the senior management. After a thorough evaluation by the sales head and other seniors from the organization it was realized that five members from the total of seventeen were most responsible for helping the organization to boost its sales and that too with innovative sales techniques. There was a small yet significant function organized by the Human resource team for recognizing their efforts. To the surprise of many seated in the hall, the name that was missing from the list of the five achievers was that of Rohinesh. The surprise was mainly because he was the best amongst the entire group of trainees including those especially from the sales team. Rohinesh sat there a bit subdued. After the function, he did not have much to say and walked away silently but with an expression of casualness. Nine months in total had passed by since the trainees were inducted into the organization.
