The Kumar family have been saving up to purchase their first dream home for the past 10 years.

This finally turned into a reality. The family is eager to move into their new home.

Krishna Kumar said the house would be a life-changing experience for his family as the living standards would be raised significantly and the space was large which would provide them with the opportunity of hosting large family gatherings.

This is a freehold property, located in Vatuwaqa, Suva, with 814 square metres that consists of a double-story concrete structure.

The ground floor flat which consists of three executive bedrooms with one master bedroom and has a large spacious sitting room and veranda with two car ports.

It has a beautiful landscape, large areas of spaces in both the back and the front with all gardens having a rock lining.

Mr Kumar said he had been looking for a freehold property as such for a while now, with a large enough area to add on a second double story house in the future.

He said his entire family moved to Suva from Nadi about 18 years ago and they had faced many difficulties to get to where they are today.

“I am a Suva market vendor, Justice of Peace and Director for Krishna Local Fruits. I have been selling my produce (mainly watermelon and pineapple) with a lot of struggles and collecting money to buy our home was not easy for us,” he said.

“Now I can proudly say my efforts and hard work has finally paid off.”

He said his son, Krishneel Kumar came to find out about the property was listed on Facebook and took the initiative to contact Harcourts Fiji agent, Jasmindar Singh. He helped turn our dream into a reality.

“Mr Singh was really helpful in guiding us through the process of purchasing the property,” Mr Kumar added.

“I am very thankful and appreciative of the help and support provided to Mr Singh.”

He said his most recent milestone achievement was to purchase this house for approximately $600,000.

“The current valuation of the property stands at around $900,000 and we were offered 40 per cent discount market value and thought this would be the perfect time for a property investment,” he added.

He said he was excited and was looking forward to her daughter who resides in New Zealand to visit.

The house is currently undergoing small renovations and paintings. The family is planning to move to their new home sometime next week.
