127 selected Fijian workers praise Fijian and Australian Govts for employment opportunities
ATOTAL of 127 selected Fijian workers who were farewelled recently praised both the Fijian and the Australian governments for the employment opportunities of Fijians under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme.
Salote Tuinamata thanked both governments for the worthwhile opportunity for job openings in Australia.
“We’re so excited to have been selected under this Fijian Government initiative to represent Fijians under the PALM scheme,” Ms Tuinamata said.
“There is nothing we have to give back to the government of the day as our token of appreciation for this opportunity, however, we assure the Fijian Government to do our utmost best to continue to lift the Fijian brand with integrity for the employability of other potential Fijian workers.”
“We are indeed grateful to the work carried out by the Employment
Ministry staff for their tireless efforts through extended working hours in ensuring that we fulfil all requirements and the processing of our applications,” Ms Tuinamata added.
During the farewell, Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Parveen Kumar, stated that the Fijian and Australian governments have nothing but the best intentions for the Fijian workers.
“That is why we have a team of hard-working individuals here in NEC, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing PALM Support Service in preparing you for your deployments,” Minister Kumar said.
He congratulated the selected workers and urged them to continue to open many doors of opportunities for their brothers and sisters in Fiji to experience the same.
