Australian Couple Say ‘I Do’ in Intimate Ceremony
Australian couple, Rachelle and Darren Hutchinson, reckon Fiji’s wedding experience is one that should be shared among close family and friends. Rachelle, a retail worker and Darren, a miner, have always wanted to return to celebrate their special day.
But the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to re-book and rearrange the auspicious day.
Finally, on September 12 in the ideal wedding resort, Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji, the pair officially became Mr and Mrs.
Asked why Fiji? “Through our eyes it’s perfection!” Rachelle said.
“The weather, the people, the way that everyone connects to nature and not the materialistic things that we seem to get caught up in everyday.
“Fiji is simple yet relaxing and gave us both a sense of tranquility we both loved.
“We would do it again and again and again!
“To share such a beautiful moment with such beautiful people was like a fairytale.
“The weather, the dances, the MC, the fireworks, our beautiful wedding coordinator and not to forget our amazing photographer, who captured our most precious and memorable moments so we can reflect on them forever. “I personally wouldn’t elope as Fiji offers so much that you wouldn’t want to not share it!
“Our friends and family had an amazing holiday.
“If we had had that day alone, I wouldn’t have been able to put in words!
“I’m so glad we shared the day with loved ones so they could experience every emotion along with us.”
Their love story began in 2015 in their hometown Orange, in New South Wales, Australia where they met through a mutual friend. They recalled their first date like it was yesterday – a fancy restaurant set-up and champagne, yet now they would’ve chosen a feed from a bar around the corner. Both coming out of failed marriages, the love birds have accepted each other’s children and families.
“Darren loves my children as if they were his own,” Rachelle said. “He shows so much love, patience and kindness and treats me like a woman should be treated.
“After all of these years, he still treats me and the kids exactly the same.”
