Businessman Sulendra Raju has urged the Nadi community to be united, supportive and keep growing Nadi for the future.

Mr Raju, who is the owner of the All in One Builders (NZ) and All In One Cakes and Restaurant, officiated in the 75th Nadi Town anniversary on Thursday.

Originally from Nawaka, Nadi, Mr Raju migrated to New Zealand in 1995 where his business grew. He owns businesses in NZ and Nadi where over 100 people are employed.

“It’s a proud moment for me and my family to grace this event. It has been my ambition to give back to my hometown of Nadi,” he said. Mr Raju came from a poor background where he used to sell peanuts and vegetables in the Nadi Market after school to support his family and make ends meet. “I encourage all to never be afraid of failing in life. We need to take risks in life to be successful, but at the same time, remember to never give up on your goals and ambitions. Make the right choices in life and always be honest in whatever you do, you will always succeed.” Special Administrator Lawrence Kumar said the township had reached a milestone and urged all to have pride in the township. He thanked the sponsors for coming on board: LICI, All in One Builders NZ, Denarau Corporation

Limited, Walesi Fiji, Radisson Blu, Deo & Associates, best Fish & Chips, Coca Cola, Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort, Motibhai, FMF and Signs Pacific.

During the Bollywood night, the committee recognised the former Nadi legends who brought glory to the town in the field of rugby and football over the years.

These included deadly striker Rusiate Waqan, defender Prem Chand, midfielder Eshwa Nadan Ninja, deadly striker Henry Dyer, Seremaia Tale, Peter Dean, Dan

Lutumailagi, Lepa Tora, and Maika Namaqa to name a few.
