The Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua is looking forward to hosting the ACT Brumbies at Prince Charles Park, Nadi, on March 25.

Defending Super W champions captain Bitila Tawake (pictured) said they look forward to playing in front of their home crowd for their first Super W match.

The Fijianas’ second match against Rebels would be a double header at the HFC Bank Stadium on April 1 where the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will play Rebels. “It’s huge to play at home, the extended squad is excited for those two games in the West,” Tawake said.

“It’s great as well for our families to see us in our element.

“Definitely we are going to try our best as defending champions, defending is huge we have to work hard and get back to our element and play our Fijiana game.

“We’re looking forward to these two games, especially when this is what Fiji has been wanting to see, to see the Fijiana Drua in Super W action. It is exciting for the future of women’s rugby here.

“This season is huge for our build-up to the Northern tour that we have next year - there will be a lot of girls coming in from overseas while for us here it would be through the ANZ

Marama Championship.”

Tawake has also applauded teammate and sprinter turned winger Younis Bese for joining the sevens squad.

Bese was one of three debutants named in coach Saiasi Fuli’s squad for the Dubai and Cape Town 7s next month.

“Younis had always wanted to come back home. She wanted to join the Drua then she got called up for 7s.

“We are happy for her and she is excited for Dubai and Cape Town,” she added.
