Navuso Girl Takes Home Dux Award
Nothing is impossible if the heart is willing. This was the mantra Leesha Prasad lived by that enabled her success of being named Dux at the Dilkusha Methodist High School annual prize giving celebration last Friday.
For the young Navuso lass, it was not the first time she had received such an award.
She was also Dux in year 8 when she attended Rambisessar Chaudhary Memorial Primary School in Sawani, Nausori a few years back.
For the pure science student, it was hard work and having the right support from teachers and her parents that enabled her to claim the top honours at the school.
I also was the Dux when I was in year 8 in Primary School.
“My parents have been a source of hope, my grandparents motivated me and my teachers believed in me,” she said.
“When I found out about the award I was happy, I remember my Dad was in Labasa and I called to tell him about being the Dux and his reaction was everything.
“This achievement was for them, it was not easy being a pure science student but I made it through hard work.”
She wants to work as a cardio surgeon when she completes her studies.
“This is a proud moment not only for me but for my entire family, I have only one brother and he is 22 years old who has been a constant source of support for me.
“I am really grateful for all that has been achieved today. I dedicate the achievement to my teachers, my grandparents Mr and Mrs Suresh Prasad.
“Parents Mr and Mrs Rajnesh Prasad, Brother Rahul, Nilesh (Kaka) and family, Nitesh (kaka) and family
Vishal (Kaka), Subash (fufa), Vinita (fufa) and family USA,
