Lelean to mark 80 years of education excellence
Lelean Memorial School (LMS) is set to celebrate its 80th anniversary tomorrow.
Vice-principal Solomone Seru is encouraging all former scholars, both in Fiji and around the world, to join in the festivities.
A special celebration is planned for the day, with plans to livestream the event.
Mr Seru highlighted the school’s achievements, stating that Lelean Memorial School has come a long way since its establishment in 1943.
The school, which is one of Fiji’s largest co-educational institutions, has produced notable alumni, including the first professor in the South Pacific region.
The school was established by the Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma, and shares space with the Davuilevu Theological College.
Today, it has a student roll of more than 1000.
Tomorrow’s celebration is an opportunity for students, parents, and guardians to reflect on the school’s achievements over the past 80 years.
Mr Seru emphasised that Lelean Memorial School has produced students who have gone on to hold vital positions in Fiji, the region, and globally.
