TOURIS Wakaya’s First Female GM
Monika Pal will be implementing new programmes to preserve the ocean’s natural resources. The new general manager for Wakaya Club and Spa intends to do this through a robust sustainability programme; including the property’s Giant Clam Farm located in the Marina Reserve, to a forthcoming coral plant restoration project slated for late 2023
Ms Pal started her 23-year career working at some of Fiji’s top resorts, such as Sonaisali Island Resort, Taunovo Bay Resort, and Mango Bay Resort.She joined the Wakaya team in 2016 as a resort manager.
As the resort’s first female general manager, Ms Pal hopes to bring a new perspective to managing the day to day operations of Wakaya.
Her staff comprised of more than 95 per cent of native Fijians.
Ms Pal’s main focus is to create memorable world-class experiences for guests, ensuring excellent customer service with a genuine Fijian touch.
Wakaya is a private island in the Lomaiviti Group. Flight from Nadi to Wakaya is 35 minutes.
