Walesi partners with LTA on road safety

-

Walesi PTE Limited, the only provider of digital television coverage across Fiji, has partnered with The Land Transport Authority, to ensure that all Fijians receive timely and pertinent information. Walesi is partnering with various government agencies and organisations to display important messages on its digital billboards.

Being the sole provider of free Digital Television platform in Fiji, Walesi has successfully provided coverage to the whole of Fiji. Approximately 95 per cent of Fijian households are accessing Walesi’s Free to Air digital transmission using UHF antennas and Set-Top Boxes to enjoy their favorite TV programmes. The remaining five per cent in remote and maritime areas are covered by satellite Directto-Home television services.

These services are provided for no monthly or annual recurring charges to viewers.

The Land Transport Authority has expressed its concerns with the current spike in road fatalities which stands at 24 so far in 2023.

The authority has acknowledged this partnership with Walesi which is valued at approximately $5730 in advertising costs. This will help promote road safety and awareness.

Sanjay Maharaj, chief executive officer of Walesi said: “As responsible corporate citizens, we are committed to using our platform to share important information with our fellow Fijians.

“We also believe that this partnership will help create awareness on road safety and ultimately save lives.”
