Rayawa Returns To Tourism
Josaia Rayawa is back in tourism. He joined Tourism Fiji’s board as a director, in a line up named by the Government. Mr Rayawa served the tourism sector for 27 years, in management roles covering all facets of hotel operations with the then-Regent Hotel chain, and later in marketing and strategic planning as regional director for Tourism Fiji.
In recent years, he left the tourism sector to focus on other interests, which included the Fiji Tavioka Association - an organisation that didn’t quite take off after it gathered a national movement in the name of tavioka flour production. The seven new board members are led by Fiji Airways chief executive officer, Andre Viljoen, who continues as chairman.
Fantasha Lockington
Chief executive officer for Fiji Hotel and Tourism, Association, Fantasha Lockington is qualified as a Master of Business Administration, and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Uraia Rasake
Uraia Rasake has over 25 years of experience in the public and private sectors.
He is a trainer and facilitator in brand and service culture with great passion in shaping organisational culture.
Mr Rasake served at senior executive level with international brands, such as the then Starwood (Sheraton and Westin), Accor’s Pullman, Warwick Group of Hotels, Vatulele and with the Fiji Development Bank.
Ilisapeci Matatolu
Ilisapeci Matatolu joined the University of the South Pacific, as a regional director from 2007 to 2013. Her marketing role in the United States included directing the implementation of Fiji’s marketing plan and developing strategic partnerships.
She holds a Bachelor of Tourism from James Cook University in Australia and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of the South Pacific.
Pavan Singh
Pavan Singh is the operations manager for Kundan Singh Group of Companies and Founder of Corner Bakery and Pizza Lab, Suva. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in
Law from the Auckland University of Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Commerce from the University of Auckland majoring in Commercial Law and Marketing.
Eroni Puamau
Mr Puamau brings with him over 19 years of executive management experience, leading transformational change in one of the pioneer tourism management brands in the Pacific, the Rosie Travel Group. Mr Puamau was responsible for introducing the highly successful Chinese New Year charter flights from China to Fiji from 2015 to 2019 as a unique blue ocean opportunity.
Salaseini Daunabuna
Ms Daunabuna is the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation permanent secretary who served in the civil service for 13 years which included three years in the role of permanent secretary for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations and three months at the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management.
She holds a Master of Governance in Public Policy, a Bachelor of Laws, and is admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor to the Fiji Bar.
