No matter who you are, or what you do, each one of us has to take a lot of individual steps to accomplish our goals.

Nasibah Naznin Ali was a pure science student who wanted to become a doctor. Last week, Ms Ali, 27, of Valele, Ba, graduated with a Bachelor of Law from University of Fiji.

“There was no lawyer on either side of my parents’ family,” she said.

“I wanted to make a difference, and find my own niche. That’s when

I decided to take up law and I’m happy that I did so.”

She said life was not easy for her because it required perseverance and confidence.

“We do not develop anything with one giant step. No matter who you are, or what you do, each one of us has to take a lot of individual steps to accomplish our goals,” Ms Ali said.

“There may come a time when you would want to give up, but you

should be strong enough to tackle those obstacles. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success. So be bold and give your best in whatever you do.

Her achievement is dedicated to her supporting parents.

“They worked hard to provide me with everything I needed in life and towards my education. Also, to my friends who helped and supported me throughout my LLB journey,”

she said.

The journey to reach her goal was long, with many obstacles and detours, but after countless challenges including a global pandemic.. She attended Ba Muslim Primary School then Kamil Muslim College. She is pursuing a graduate diploma in legal practice which is a requirement course in order to get admitted to the Bar.
