It was a joyful moment for Fatima Begum when she got to hold her new born baby The 22-year-old gave birth to her second child, Sadia Nadan two weeks ago. She said she was blessed to have another daughter.

Her eldest, Sabihah Nadan is two years old.

Ms Begum said going through labor

pain was not easy but all the pain she went through was worth it.

“My motherhood journey has been a wonderful rollercoaster. Being a mother is like being a role model for your kids, as they learn from us,” she said.

“The challenges I face as a mother is to sacrifice the additional time and plans for my kids so that I can be able to spend more quality time with them.”

She said she couldn’t do this without the love and support of her husband.

“My husband, Shivnesh Nadan has always been there for me. I am a young mother and at times I do get stressed and overwhelmed but my husband always motivates me,” she said.

She said motherhood could be a challenge but with the support of a husband, it would be much easier.

“It is important to always support your wives especially when they gave birth to a new born baby. Since we two children now, it becomes our responsibility to look after them as good and caring parents.

“It doesn’t mean that a mother gives birth so she has to do everything. A father has an important role to play as well. I am blessed to have a husband who helps me look after our daughters.”

Meanwhile, Mr Nadan said having a wife like Fatima was extremely a proud thing for him. “Our marriage and relationship has been wonderful as we have shared all our ups and downs together,” he said.

“Becoming parents was the best moments for both of us. Since my wife recently gave birth, it is my duty to look after them. As a father and a husband, I want to see them happy and safe.”

He advised fathers and father to be, to be supportive and loving towards their wives.

“Mothers are like angels. I am sure that when my daughters grow up, they will always look up to her mother.

“Mothers are strong. They bare every single pain while giving birth to their child. We as husbands should never forget that pain she went through. We should always be mindful of how we treat her.”
