Vivesh’s love for vintage cars
Car shows are a great platform to show the potential of car enthusiasts to demonstrate the uniqueness of their cars.
This is how it all started for entrepreneur and driver Vivesh Dayal who a taste in vintage cars.
Mr Dayal owns a Honda Civic EG 1995-year model which is his dream car.
He was 19 years old when he first bought a car and that was a first-generation Honda Prelude 1985-year model.
“I really love about my car is it gives me a new challenge every day to work on it,” Mr Dayal said.
“Like we boys are only thinking about cars most of the time and the modifications which we can do to get more attention on the road. And my car really is an attention seeker.
“My Honda has got a H22a VTEC engine which has got a lot of power and that's what I like about it.
“This car is special because it's a rare piece very less in Fiji and I think there is only four or five of these models here in Fiji.
“This car was a gift from my brother and that's is it is more special.”
He started driving wen I was 15 or maybe 16 years old.
Mr Dayal has previously participated in several car shows and competitions.
He finds joy in testing his car’s limits, speed and learning from other car enthusiasts about various car modifications.
“I'm into car racing mostly because I just love the power and that engine sound with that free flow exhaust system which make me keep on pressing that accelerator and hear to that sound.
“That is why my cars registration is I81B4U ( I ATE 1 BEFORE YOU).
“Now, I don't prefer car shows because what we see in the shows nowdays are hybrids cars,” Mr Dayal said.
“Apart from my car, I have participated in car shows with my company car and management to get second Best Toyota Hybrid 1.5.”
He said meeting other car enthusiast who have the same ideas and knowledge about cars, inspired him into car racing.
“My car itself is way apart from other race cars because it has got aftermarket parts and the engine is well modified as well.
