Fijian contingent for North America trade visit
The Fiji Agromarketing hopes to extend its market development by participating in the coming outbound business mission to North America which is facilitated by Investment Fiji. Following engagements with Investment Fiji in previous missions to Australia and New Zealand, the agricultural entity is confident in the benefits this venture will bring. Business relationship and innovation manager Rajan Naicker said the visit to North America with other industry stakeholders would provide entry into broader markets, especially export potentials.
“We intend to explore new market opportunities, broaden footprints, search for new product development ideas and understand the North America market demand,” Mr Naicker said. Fiji Agromarketing is a statutory company under the Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways set up to help provide markets to rural and maritime farming and fishing communities.
The trip, in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications, and the Fiji Trade Commission North America, is scheduled from May 4-14.
It will be led by the Minister for Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Communications, Manoa Kamikamica.
It signifies Fiji’s proactive approach to international trade, said Mr Naicker. He said the company’s goals, which included promoting Fijian-made products, expanding their footprint with the “Fiji fresh” brand, exploring new market avenues, understanding trade regulations, and networking with importers, particularly former Fiji citizens, and Pacific islanders residing in the USA and Canada.
