To-dos at Momi Bay

Considered to be one of the most untouched places on the west coast of Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu, our 5-star resort is nestled in the idyllic Momi Bay. Momi Bay is rich in history and folklore that is shared with guests during community visits, offering an additional experience aligned with our mission to connect guests with our local communities.

Surrounded by prominent villages and cultural diversity, the people radiate Fiji’s vibrant Bula spirit. Expect live dance and entertainment such as the traditional Fijian Meke dance, and the village choir’s graceful voices are heard from the Lagoon House on Sunday evenings, complementing Golden hour. The famous Momi Bay Battery Historical Park is just 15 minutes away from the resort. Perched on the hills, this historical site was one of Fiji’s main lookout points protecting Viti Levu during World War II with several gun emplacements up to 7 feet long. Scale our soft peaks and zip through the Momi hills with Zip Fiji, explore limestone caves and learn about Fiji’s history with your tour guides.

Our Unique Experiences

Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay translates the quintessential Fijian culture and landscape into its modern architectural structure. Known to be a preferred natural breeding ground for turtles, these symbolic marine animals, as well as other oceanic species are engraved in wooden light poles and bollards along the paths throughout the resort.

Inspired to use local materials in designs, Fish Bar restaurant features a stunning panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and is surrounded by limestones from a quarry at Tau Village, just a few kilometres away from the resort. A sheltered jacuzzi by the sunset Infinity pool invites guests to a therapeutic relaxed state of mind while sipping signature cocktails or refreshing ice cold beers.

The resort’s relaxing Voi Voi Bar is a casual and laidback, open-air outlet offering locally influenced comfort food and crafted cocktails. This outlet exemplifies the charms of village style relaxation. The design draws inspiration from the Pacific Islands through a contemporary approach, with subtle references to a traditional Fijian village, and offers outdoor seating to take advantage of the waning rays of sunlight, while watching the sun set and the moon rise.

Accommodation rooms and exterior structures such as the main lobby, Goji Kitchen and Bar and Lagoon Lounge symbolise a ‘Drua’, a traditional Fijian sailing canoe which provided efficient mobility across the ocean between the Islands back in the day. Timber cuttings of various shades left unutilised from the main buildings were simply amalgamated to create a unique backdrop for the Grand Salon exterior meeting space.

The protected lagoon in the heart of the resort, where our 22 exquisite Overwater Bures float effortlessly above the waterline is also home to various fish and coral species. Through our global campaign, Good Travels with Marriott Bonvoy, the resort is working with the Ministry of Fisheries to develop programmes to manage activities such as coral and mangrove planting, giant clay reseeding and Lagoon enhancement which will be offered to guests soon.

The resort’s culinary team curates an array of dining options, offering local infused flavours, colour and texture. Goji Kitchen & Bar offers delectable international flavours and Fijian Indian fusion cuisine, freshly caught seafood and BBQ style comfort food. Fijian dishes such as ‘Lovo,’ a famous earth oven cooking method is served at Voi Voi Bar. Experience Fish Bar's signature Sea Salt Menu, pairing the best from the land and sea with locally handcrafted artisan sea salt.
