STUDENTS from schools around Suva, Nausori, Naitasiri and Tailevu turned out in numbers at the Fiji National University’s annual open day at the Valelevu grounds in Nasinu yesterday despite the cold weather.

Fiji National University College of Humanities and Education Dean Dr Eci Nabalarua said the turnout by students to the two-day event was overwhelming.

She said students were accompanied by their teachers to the event and were eager to know more about the open day and what it could offer them.

Dr Nabalarua highlighted that the open day was a great platform for students to actually decide on programs to take when they completed secondary education.

“So far because of the layout we’ve had here, we are able to control the flow and so far so good,” she said.

“This open day is really for students to come and see the displays that are there, the brochures — some of the instruments for the program and to ask the questions on what would be the possible programs of study and the pathways that they could pursue.”

The open day ends today.
