Deep clean your gas stove burners

IT'S vital to keep your cooktop burners clean every now and then. After all, once grease and dirt start to accumulate, the cooktop burners could lose their sheen or become hard to remove afterwards.

Gas cooktop burners are an essential part of your kitchen so it's its important to properly clean them the right way because failure to do so may result in flames that will not cook evenly!

According to website maids.com, dirty, greasy gas burner grates on today's gas stove tops not only age the appliance, but they could also affect your cooking and present a fire hazard.

You'll need the following cleaning products: ■ Dishwashin­g detergent ■ Baking soda

■ Scrub brush ■ Vinegar

■ Cloth

An easy clean for gas stove burners:

The baking soda method

Wash all burners with lukewarm water and dishwashin­g detergent to remove initial film.Make a thick paste cleaner of baking soda and water. Coat all burners with paste and let it stand for 20 minutes.

Scrub the softened food residue with a scrub brush and rinse thoroughly.

The vinegar method

■ As a way of daily maintenanc­e, spray burners regularly with vinegar

■ Allow to sit for 10 to 15 minutes

■ Wipe down with a clean cloth

■ This method is most effective as ongoing maintenanc­e, as it cuts through grease before it has a chance to be baked in. Use this process after cleaning gas stove top with the first method.

Whatever natural cleaning method you choose, daily maintenanc­e is the sure-fire way to never spend more time than you need to cleaning your gas stove top.
