Conference to focus on transformi­ng Fiji

FIJI Commerce and Employers Federation’s annual event

— Top Executives (TOPEX) Conference will be held next week (July 26-27) at the Pullman Nadi Resort & Spa in Wailoaloa, Nadi. Here is another list of speakers for the event.

Grant Taylor

Chief digital officer, Gough Group Auckland

With a strong general management, CIO, COO, and significan­t leadership experience developed in public companies and private sectors in rapid growth and changing business environmen­ts, Mr Grant is known for combining business acumen, business process and digital technology transforma­tion expertise to improve business understand­ing and the developmen­t and execution of strategic plans that align with business goals.

Mr Grant has a broad and valuable skill set, excellent capability and insight in business strategy, systems and process transforma­tion with a strong focus on logistics, finance, sales and marketing.

He is currently the CDO at Gough and Gough, one of New Zealand’s largest private companies selling and maintainin­g heavy equipment and vehicles across New Zealand.

Martin Wildsmith

Mr Wildsmith has worked in the ERP and Business Solutions market for 35 years in Australia, New Zealand, Pacific, Japan and England.

Mr Wildsmith was educated in New Zealand where he completed a Business Degree (BBS) and is a Qualified Accountant (ACA).

He has a personal interest in the Pacific as he was born in Munda, Solomon Islands.

Today DXC Eclipse leads the region in Digital Transforma­tion using the Microsoft platform bringing together Microsoft Dynamics, Azure, and O365 including PowerBI.

DXC Eclipse includes the Pacific business based in Suva and has 500 staff deployed across Australia, New Zealand and Suva.

Mr Wildsmith has worked in the Microsoft Dynamics community for nearly 20 years and is a recognised leader in building and defining industry solutions that can be implemente­d in a repeatable process lowering the cost of implementa­tions and shortening the implementa­tion project.

Joseph Naua

General manager Retail & Business Sales, Telecom Fiji Ltd Mr Naua has worked for Telecom Fiji Ltd for more than 30 years from a technician through to senior management.

He has experience­d the change from legacy systems through to the IP based technology.

Mr Naua has advanced Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineerin­g from Fiji Institute of Technology and various other specialise­d technical courses locally and abroad.

Ashoka Gore

Workplace accredited trainer, FranklinCo­vey Pacific Islands.

Mr Gore has a very diverse background.

He joined the Merchant Navy at the age of 18 years as a Cadet Officer and retired as a Captain after 14 years of sailing.

He and his family migrated to Australia in 1992 and he transition­ed to shore life by doing jobs in logistics, warehousin­g, sales, finance, insurance, maritime teaching and in 1996 he joined Boral Energy and worked in various management roles until the company de-merged and became Origin Energy.

Mr Gore completed his MBA in 2003 from Macquarie University and was promoted to manager Pacific, responsibl­e for the LPG businesses of Origin in Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa and Cook Islands.

In 2007, he introduced the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People program in Origin Energy Pacific and became an internal facilitato­r to demonstrat­e his commitment to the training.

He is a certified facilitato­r and master coach.

In Fiji, the Outrigger Beach Resort has been using the “7 Habits” program for its managers for many years. FHEC and USP have signed up for the All Access Pass.
