PM wishes team well

- By NOA BIUDOLE

“THIS is your moment,” Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama said in his message to the Flying Fijians before they play Australia in the Rugby World Cup this afternoon in Japan.

“Seize your place in history and make a statement on rugby’s grandest stage.”

Bainimarama said all teams had prepared hard for the world cup, but Fiji had a secret weapon which would fuel its campaign.

“You have something no other team has, an entire nation united behind your success.

“The passion of the Fijian people for this game is unrivalled by any other country in the world of rugby.

“When you put on these jerseys, lace your boots and take to the field, the eyes of the entire nation will be upon you

“School kids nurses teachers, chief executive officers, civil servants mothers, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers.

“Every Fijian everywhere in Fiji is with you.”

Bainimarama encouraged the players to stay humble, disciplined and focus on their roles on the field.

Fiji plays Australia at 4:45pm today at Saporo Dome, Japan.
