USP graduates’ hard work pays off
Twins graduate together
STUDYING together has paid off for twin sisters Ashlyn and Jeshlyn Vilash who attained their Bachelor of Commerce degrees during the University of the South Pacific graduation yesterday.
The twins have been inseparable since birth and Ms Ashlyn said they had always done everything together. “It’s been great studying with my sister, she’s been my best friend since forever, so whenever we do assignments we do it together, we’re in the same class, same tutorial and even in the same group,” she said. “She’s been very supportive and I am thankful to have taken this tertiary education journey with her by my side.”
Jeshlyn said while at university they made sure to have an holistic experience since it was a once in a lifetime opportunity for them. “When we entered university we found out about the programs that were available, we also went on a cultural exchange trip to Japan called JENESYS,” she said.
Ashlyn said their experience of university life had been worthwhile and all of it had paid off.
“USP has a lot of amazing opportunities outside of academia such as campus life, volunteer activities, cultural exchange trips and we’ve always looked out for each other while we were studying,” she said. “Jeshlyn has supported me in so many ways and not forgetting our mum, we would like to dedicate this achievement to both our parents.”
