The University of the South Pacific (USP), Pacific Technical and Further Education (Pacific TAFE) programme are well captured in relation to theory and assessment­s that allows for in-depth practical exposure for Human Resource generalist said the PACIFIC CENTRECOM (Fiji) Limited Manager – People & Culture Mr. Hitesh Chandra.

Mr. Chandra is the immediate supervisor of Ms. Shweta Justina Singh who graduated with a Diploma of Human Resource Management (Level 5) from USP, Pacific TAFE on 19 September 2019.

WHAT THE STUDENT SAYS?

An elated Ms. Singh who works as a Human Resource Assistant for Pacific Centrecom Fiji Limited said that her experience at Pacific TAFE had been amazing.

“Whatever I am today is because of the programme that Pacific TAFE had provided,” she said. “I always wanted to pursue a career in Human Resource and thus Pacific TAFE provided me an opportunit­y via further education to achieve my dream.”

She further stressed that the Pacific TAFE team assists students find work placements during their final year as attachment and this really assists students in understand­ing the industry rationale.

“Well the last unit of the course requires students to do attachment and Pacific TAFE staff assist students with placements in the industry,” she said. “I was lucky enough to have been selected via the National Job Fair expo 2019 which was held in April 2019.”

Ms. Singh encourages other students to pursue their dreams and to consider Pacific TAFE as a means of pursuing further education.

“Most of Pacific TAFE programmes are internatio­nally accredited or recognised therefore I would highly recommend other students and high school leavers to enroll at Pacific TAFE and grow their career and education with them. Pacific TAFE supports every students dream and help them achieve them. The staff and facilitato­rs will make your dreams come true.”

He stresses that Ms. Singh demonstrat­ed high level of understand­ing in the work they do at Pacific CENTRECOM.

“I would highly recommend Pacific TAFE programmes as they are well suited to the industry needs with facilitato­r’s knowledge impartment are based on industry learning and experience,” he said.

“Shweta was selected as part of our company new initiative around internship and graduate programmes in the fields of Human Resource and Informatio­n Technology. Shweta had shown interested in the National job Fair 2019 which was held in April, 2019, where her Curriculum Vitae was collected as an expression of interest for Human Resources. She was later on contacted for interview with other applicatio­ns and confirmed for the role as an Attaché for 3 months allowing her to complete her 400 hours and to graduate – now she has become an integral part of our team.”
