National poppy appeal launched

THE national poppy appeal was launched in Suva yesterday.

Acting Prime Minister and Fisheries Minister Semi Koroilavesau said while Government continually provided much needed assistance and programs to support “our heroes”, it was only befiting that we as a nation “repay this sacrifice and honour them by buying a poppy”.

The money collected during the poppy appeal will go towards the ExServicemen’s Association and the welfare of our veterans and their families.
