World Cup Rugby

WHILE we were all disappointed with the recent performance of our national rugby team at the Rugby World Cup in Japan in their first two pool games, did we take a moment to think hard on the personal sacrifice and pain that these rugby players have had to endure in order to reach that level of rugby.

Only their close families and relatives will know or understand their journey. Suppose if some of these highly paid players from their French club rugby teams got injured during the World Cup, will that club continue to pay them or will the FRU step in to look after the player’s daily welfare or will the fans help?

So don’t negatively criticise our national rugby team’s performance.

Win or lose, Fiji rugby is still my team because I’m a Fijian diehard fan and was born and raised in Fiji.
