Positive look

-

THERE is a saying that “every cloud has a silver lining”.

What that means to me is that every bad or negative situation can still have a good or positive outcome for someone or everyone.

This can happen either in the natural flow of events, or by actual design on our part.

Bearing this optimistic “saying” in mind, I really hope that, if it does not emanate naturally, we should find ways to strategically steer our nation’s course to at least gain from the possible fallout, if any, from some of the ongoing world events.

For instance, Brexit is scheduled for the end of this month.

There is the ongoing US-China trade war.

On the climate change front, there is the ongoing non-committal stance being taken by some of the more industrialised countries with regards to their country’s obligations to reduce global warming, as already agreed to in COPs.

There is also the grave possibility of a global recession or downturn soon.

All these may have a direct or indirect impact on us as a nation.

In my humble opinion, we must adopt a more proactive approach now.

We need to come up with appropriate strategies and plans to gain from any of the negative fallouts that may occur from these.

The “saying” mentioned above, says that there is always hope, despite how bad things might look.

I hope that it will eventually be a win situation for us.
