Company gives cancer society a 4WD
CANCER patients and survivors access to assistance received a huge boost with the contribution of a brand new four-wheel-drive vehicle by a finance company to the Fiji Cancer Society this week on Thursday.
The vehicle is the third that has been handed over to the society by Kontiki Finance chairman Daryl Tarte.
Society president Makrava Wilson acknowledged Kontiki Finance’s contribution towards their efforts.
“These vehicles will allow the society to reach to many more patients who are being cared for at home and providing transportation to come in for clinics and drop-offs,” he said.
Mr Makrava also said the vehicle would greatly assist the society in reaching their patients and survivors in the interior as well.
Kontiki Finance said the assistance was part of the finance company’s Pinktober campaign contribution.
Meanwhile, the society said it was vital to include men in the breast cancer awareness conversation because each year about five men in Fiji were diagnosed with breast cancer.
