Awards for top students
NINETY awards were given out to Natabua High School students who were recognised for their achievements in the sports and academic arena in 2018.
Considered one of the top schools in Fiji, the school’s management team held the awards ceremony to acknowledge students who performed well in fields such as athletics, netball, rugby, mathematics, chemistry and oratory contests.
School principal Virend Sharma said the institution took pride in recognising students who excelled in different fields.
He said Natabua was committed to ensuring each student’s strength and ambitions were recognised and encouraged.
Chief guest Minister for Education Rosy Akbar commended the school and their students for maintaining its high achieving standards.
“I think we have to acknowledge the schoolteachers of Natabua for being devoted to this cause of teaching and encouraging their students to chase their dreams,” she said.
“I want to give my sincere appreciation to the former and current teachers, administrators, parents, guardians and former students and scholars of the school for putting Natabua to where it is today.”
Recipient of the Principal’s Award and head girl Peniana Qonitoga credited the school and teachers for helping her excel.
The Forensic Science Scholarship holder added she owed a lot to the values that have been instilled in her over the years as a student of Natabua High School.
