Island resort scoops major award
THE renowned Turtle Island which lies in the northern Yasawa region has scooped major international awards this year after being recognised yet again for its staff and employees beautiful Fijian service and smiles.
This was after the 2019 AFAR Traveller's Choice Awards listed Turtle Island Resort as the best beach hotel in the world.
The eco-luxury resort was the only property in Fiji listed as a finalist and more than 200,000 votes were cast naming the property the winner against some amazing hotels from around the globe.
The resort was also named the 2019 Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Award winner and has also been selected as one of the top resorts in Australia and the South Pacific.
Resort chief executive and the son of Turtle Island’s founder Richard Evanson Jr said they were honoured to be recognised by so many prestigious accolades, particularly to be named The Best Resort Hotel in the South Pacific and ranked highly among the best hotels in the world.
“These achievements further reaffirm our commitment to delivering an exceptional and personalised guest experience that is authentic to whom we are as a culture and family,” Mr Evanson Jr said.
“It’s wonderful to be celebrated for our continued dedication in making every guest stay a memorable Turtle Island experience and an amazing way to lead into Turtle Island’s 40th anniversary next year.”
Throughout 2019, Turtle Island was also recognised as the number one Resort Hotel in the South Pacific by Travel Leisure World’s Best Awards and ranked 12th in the Top 100 Hotels of the World.
BRIDES magazine also named Turtle Island as a Top Honeymoon Destination in their Brides Honeymoon Awards and TripAdvisor also listed the resort as a Travelers’ Choice award winner based on reviews and opinions from millions of travellers.
