Loyalty and trust
THE sales and marketing team plays a key role in the building of loyalty and trust between customer and business.
They bridge the gaps between the potential customer’s needs and the products/ services by fulfilling their needs.
Managing a solid team of 18 members in Suva, two in Nadi and three in Lautoka is The Fiji Times advertising and marketing manager Annie Robinson. The sales and marketing team comprises of three teams — the classifieds sales, display sales and marketing.
“Classifieds sales covers vacancies, to lets, in memoriam, birthdays and funeral notices both,” she said.
“Under the watchful eyes and guidance of two women (Vivina Talomani and Iva Adidauna) — they also look after the Nadi and Lautoka classifieds team.
“The display or early general news sales includes supermarket ads, event product launches, coverage ads like RWC liftout, bondwraps of the paper. We sell for all the different publications, The Fiji Times, Sunday Times, Kaila!, vernacular publications and online advertising.
“We have an experienced team in sales — our West sales manager (Savenaca Rokoua), in Suva we have Jessie Naua who is our team leader advertising and Raveena Patrick and Teresia Ratunibuli who are senior sales consultants. A combined wealth of experience from these senior team members who have assisted in mentoring the other team members.”
Ms Robinson adds the marketing team handles all promotions for the company.
“We currently have the RWC promo with Heineken, Rangoli promo with Memsaab, Anitas, Govindas, Kaila! colouring with Damodar Cinemas to name a few.
“Marketing also includes sponsorship requests and over the years we’ve assisted a lot of requests for sponsorship like WOWs Kids, St Christopher’s Home, Shriner’s Hospital, FENC Fiji, Style Fiji to name a few.”
The departments daily routine includes checking the newspaper and the e-paper every mornings.
“Our team meets weekly and in our little teams we talk about the targets for the week and the month,” she said.
