Always on the move
WORK on a daily basis in the circulation department means they’re always on the move. Always constantly monitoring, managing and adjusting orders to ensure they maximise sale and at the same time ensure minimum returns.
The strong team of nine certifies all papers are ready, wrapped for delivery runs and delivered in a timely manner.
Circulation team leader, Rajesh Prasad said in between all these, they also invoice customers on a daily basis, adjust newspaper supply based on sales forecast and ensure customers receive the best service delivery.
“The circulation department plays a pivotal role within The Fiji Times. We always aim to ensure whatever service we provide is delivered in an accurate, timely manner and our papers are available to our readers on time,” he said.
“We are also unique in the sense that we keep track of all our agents and subscribers and monitor sales on a daily basis and fine-tuning this as and when the need arises. The work we carry out in circulation department involves a lot of spontaneity as well.”
He adds their daily routine includes processing actual supplies, orders to agents, daily labels, invoices and also getting feedbacks.
“We also work in unison with our delivery team and other internal departments.
“Our team also ensures our papers are available to our readers before our competitors. In addition to this, we work to ensure our paper is accessible to our readers by continuously opening new agents considering the growing population, movement and the increase in business sector allowing for more shops and retail outlets to sell our paper and making it easily accessible to the public to purchase.
“Our heavily experienced team consists of team members equipped with a wide range of skills and know-how and is a plus when it comes to ensuring we deliver quality service and understand our reader’s needs. Getting the papers out daily is always a challenge and we thrive on these challenges.”
