Growing need

THE Western Disabled People’s Association has more than 20,000 people that the group caters for throughout the year. Newly-appointed association secretary Jyotish Singh said the association received an average of 10 requests a day for wheelchairs and disability aids. “This year, we started another survey of our members, visiting them to see their immediate needs and so far we have seen a huge growth of new disabled persons,” he said.
