Brie Larson:

Marvel women want all-female movie

-

IN Avengers: Endgame, there’s an alltoo-brief battle scene that features all the female superheroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe joining forces to take on the villains. In a film that, by some accounts, failed Black Widow, its lead actress, the scene also served as a stark reminder that, save for Captain Marvel, the studio has been slow to make a movie that focuses solely on its key female stars. But in a recent interview with Variety, Brie Larson (aka Captain Marvel herself) said that many of the women of Marvel have noticed the dearth and have told studio head Kevin Feige that they want an allfemale film.

“I will say that a lot of the female cast members from Marvel walked up to Kevin and were like, ‘We are in this together, we want to do this,’” she said. However, that’s as committal an answer as she was willing to give at the time, since it’s unclear what Feige and co. will actually do about that request.

“I have no idea, I’m not in charge of the future of Marvel,” Larson said with a laugh. “But it is something that we’re really passionate about and we love.” She also urged the fans to get involved: “I feel like if enough people out in the world talk about how much they want it, maybe it’ll happen.”
