Khan says players will be rewarded big after IDC win

-

LABASA president Rayaz Khan says all players will be rewarded big for their wonderful contribution in the team’s first Inter District Championship (IDC) win on western soil.

Labasa defeated Suva 1-0 in extra time of the final through a Dennis Ifunaoa goal on Sunday night.

Khan said the executives would be meeting later in the week to plan on their celebration and other things.

He said the players should expect a good return for their hard work.

“All credit goes to the players and the coach for the marvellous work they have done in IDC. By winning the IDC we have proven that we are the most consistent team in Fiji this year as we have also won the Battle of Giants title.”

“We will be inviting our sponsors, stakeholders and other wellwishers in our meeting and details of our celebration will be released once we formalise everything.”

He has hinted that players may be sharing the $25,000 prizemoney together with other added bonuses and incentives. Labasa finished the IDC with an unbeaten record. The Babasiga Lions were held 1-1 by Lautoka, defeated Tavua 2-1 and Ba 1-0 in Group A matches.

The Ronil Lal-coached side then thumped host Nadi 5-0 in the semifinal before beating Suva 1-0 in extra time of the final.
