BEING positive in life makes you achieve great things and negativity makes you fail, says Ballantine Memorial School dux Adi Varanisese Donumanasava.
The Namuamua, Namosi lass said staying positive was one thing that led her to achieving her goal.
“I was surprised when my name was announced as the school dux. I did not do well in my last examination so I did not expect to win the dux award,” said Adi Varanisese.
The youngest of the three siblings said she was very emotional and at the same time happy to leave BMS school as a dux.
“I thank the Almighty God for giving me the knowledge and helping me get the award.
“I dedicate my awards to my grandmother back at home and parents who are always there for me when I needed them.
“One of their daily advices was to keep trying my best until I achieve my goal. My dad was always telling me to make him proud by being the first child in the family to get the dux award. And finally I have achieved what he was always praying for,” says Adi Varanisese.
The Year 13 student wants to pursue studies in the medical field.
“I want to be a doctor because I love to help people when they are sick or injured,” said Adi Varanisese.
Proud father Rogasiano Donumanasava said it was not a surprise when she was awarded the school dux.
“My daughter has been getting prizes ever since her primary school days. Seeing her winning all those awards was not a surprise for me and my wife today,” he said.
