Cover for house owners

- By VERENAISI RAICOLA

SUN Insurance launches its new Houseowners Insurance cover on November 1, 2019. Their slogan has always been for Fijians by Fijians and they stand by this statement true to their core. In

July this year, Sun Insurance introduced their Limited Cyclone Cover.

This means that you can still apply for insurance even without the need for a current engineers certificate as part of their wider Houseowners Policy. This policy was specially made after Sun Insurance realised the difficulties that many ordinary Fijians were facing in meeting the escalated costs of getting replacement Cyclone certificates for their homes.

Sun Insurance says that similarly, with their new houseowners cover they have incorporated a number of automatic additional benefits that are included at no extra cost particularly to assist all that decide to insure with them.

This includes a Natural Disaster Resilience cover of $1000 that Sun Insurance will pay to clients whose homes are within 25km of the centre of any cyclone Category 3 and upwards.

“And this is not dependent on you having a cyclone cover,” they said.

Similarly, for earthquake, Sun Insurance will pay $1000 to clients whose homes fall within 15km of the epicentre.

This is in addition to the normal covers for fire, lightning, earthquake and other extraneous perils that are already entrenched within your policy at Sun Insurance.

For Funeral Benefits Sun Insurance offers $2500 for individual houseowners in the event of their death.

“Upon completion of five years of insuring, this amount is increased from $2500 to $5000.

Sun Insurance have always been mindful of the difficulties that families go through when there is a death of a loved one and have catered for this need accordingly.”

There is a death benefit of $10,000 for families who lose loved ones in home fires. They have terms and conditions that apply across the board on all their policies and these will apply as is the normal practice.

Sun Insurance responds to the changing market demands and intends to maintain innovation as a key factor in their business.
