Tourist op­er­a­tor launches travel guide app

TOURIST op­er­a­tors Rosie Travel Group has launched a new travel guide and book­ing ser­vice that comes with a dig­i­tal plat­form that al­lows vis­i­tors to make book­ings be­fore trav­el­ling to Fiji.

Aptly named Dis­cover Fiji In-Desti­na­tion Ser­vices, Dis­cover Fiji Travel Guide and its dig­i­tal marketplac­e DISCOVERFI­JI.COM, the new ser­vice of­fers trav­ellers a peek into what they could ex­pect when hol­i­day­ing in Fiji.

Ac­cord­ing to the com­pany, Dis­cover Fiji Travel Guide was a col­lab­o­ra­tive ef­fort with Me­dia Metro and Front Page which pro­duced a per­sonal guide­book de­signed to im­prove the ar­rival ex­pe­ri­ence.

The DiscoverFi­ji.com web­site and the DiscoverFi­ji mo­bile ap­pli­ca­tion of­fers a dig­i­tal concierge book­ing ser­vice for each sub­scribed trav­eller.

Tourism Fiji CEO Matthew Stockel said the new fea­tures were a fantastic tool that in­ter­na­tional vis­i­tors could use to re­search and book rec­om­mended ac­tiv­i­ties.

“Im­por­tantly, the tool will as­sist vis­i­tors to re­search the desti­na­tion be­fore ar­riv­ing and also when they are trav­el­ling around Fiji,” he said.

“This con­ve­nience of book­ing through a de­vice or app is of­fered in other des­ti­na­tions, and it’s fantastic that Dis­cover Fiji is also pro­vid­ing this op­tion for vis­i­tors in Fiji to book through this chan­nel.

“Tourism Fiji com­mends the part­ner­ship of the Rosie Travel Group, Fiji Air­ports, Me­dia Metro, and Front Page for the ini­tia­tive to cre­ate the Dis­cover Fiji In-Desti­na­tion Ser­vices.

“We look for­ward to hear­ing more about Rosie Travel Group’s in­no­va­tion in de­vel­op­ing tech­nol­ogy that will en­hance the vis­i­tor ex­pe­ri­ence in Fiji by con­nect­ing vis­i­tors to all there is to see and do in the place where hap­pi­ness finds you.”

Fiji Air­ports Air Traf­fic Man­age­ment and Oper­a­tions gen­eral man­ager Isei Tu­dreu said the launch of this plat­form could give all of Fiji’s vis­i­tors the abil­ity to make their trip seam­less.

“This plat­form will cus­tomise their travel ex­pe­ri­ence and even makes it au­then­tic,” he said.

“It is a plea­sure to be in part­ner­ship with Rosie be­cause ul­ti­mately we want the vis­i­tor num­bers to Fiji to grow.”

Rosie Travel Group man­ag­ing di­rec­tor Tony Whit­ton said they were look­ing for­ward to see­ing the re­sponses from trav­el­ers to Fiji.

“So our new jour­ney with Dis­cover Fiji is sim­ply an ex­ten­sion of why we started Rosie Tours with the same vi­sion for ex­cel­lence in meet­ing the ex­pec­ta­tions of to­day’s trav­eller who is more ed­u­cated, more so­phis­ti­cated, well-trav­elled, in­formed, savvy, price­sen­si­tive and more de­mand­ing,” he said.
