Unscrupulous retailers
YET again, The Fiji Times is running a report from the Consumer Council of Fiji on unscrupulous practices by retailers.
This report involves lamb necks and according to the council, despite the retailer being warned about the practice, it continues.
The offenders are not being named.
What do we have here, toothless tiger legislation, toothless tiger regulatory organisations, or the media not willing to report the offending retailers’ details. If one media organisation can name and shame reckless drivers, why can’t the same be done for reckless retailers.
Quite honestly I believe running such articles is a waste of space, the only way to stop offenders in this scenario is to name them.
