Families gather for traditional ceremonies

- By ANA MADIGIBULI

A FEW villagers from Naiserelagi in Ra attended a kau matanigone (a ceremony of introducing children to their mother’s village) and bulubulutaki (a ceremony of forgiveness burying resentments) event to support the Sevutia family in Tavuya, Rewa last month. Women in bright coloured sulu jaba holding bales of cloths and men in neatly-sewn bula shirts carrying gallons of kerosene was the scene for the day before the festivity started off in Tavuya Village. Travelling down the Rewa delta in small boats was an overwhelming experience for most attending the event that day.
