Chauhan reigns

VINOD Chauhan took out the men’s division title during the mixed stableford event which played at the Nadi Airport Golf Club course on Sunday.

Chauhan scored 35 points. Chandra Segran Pillay was second with 31 points while Ram Khelawan ‘Rambo’ was third with 30 points.

Jenice Hinton took out the ladies division with a score of 34 points. Sulu Brook was second with 24 points. Brook also hit the longest drive and claimed the nearest to the pin prize. Ravesi Koroi finished third with 22 points.

Semisi Tabua won the longest drive prize in the men’s division while Neel Naro collected the nearest to the pin prize.

Meanwhile Mike Broadbridg­e took out the A Grade title during the first monthly medal event for the 2020 season.

Broadbridg­e scored 72 net.

NAGC treasurer Mark Hinton won the B Grade title with a score of 71 net while Chauhan took out the C Grade title with 64 net.

Raina Kumar was placed first in the ladies division with 74 net. Konrote was second with 76 net and Brook finished third with 78 net.

Tabua and Raina hit the longest drives. Hinton said the monthly medal was sponsored by Avinesh and Sunita Kumar while the stableford event was sponsored by some friends of the club.

He said the Loadstone Holdings sponsored two person four ball event would be played at the course this Sunday.

“We aim to hold weekly competitio­ns so our members are actively involved in the sport,” Mark said.

“The golf shop at the club is open daily and there are profession­als available for golfing lessons as well.”
